April Songs and Poems

I Love Trash
By Jeff Moss

Oh, I love trash!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
Yes, I love trash

I have here a sneaker that's tattered and worn
It's all full of holes and the laces are torn
A gift from my mother the day I was born
I love it because it's trash

Oh, I love trash!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
Yes, I love trash

I have here some newspaper thirteen months old
I wrapped fish inside it; it's smelly and cold
But I wouldn't trade it for a big pot o' gold!
I love it because it's trash

Oh, I love trash!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
Yes, I love trash

I've a clock that won't work
And an old telephone
A broken umbrella, a rusty trombone
And I am delighted to call them my own!
I love them because they're trash

Oh, I love trash!
Anything dirty or dingy or dusty
Anything ragged or rotten or rusty
Yes, I love, I love, I love trash!

A Day At A Time
By Ellie Goulding

I wanna drink from the clearest water,
I wanna eat the things I ought to.
I'm just one, I know, but I feel strong, you know.
I wanna reach the greatest mountain,
climb if I want without all the shouting.
I'm just one, I know, but I feel strong, you know.
Clouds really should be white, at least,
and oceans should meet us at the beach.
And I don't want to overreach but,
I know what's in store,
from love life a day at a time.
Go love life a day at a time.
Go love
Love

SPRING
By Kaitlyn Guenther

So many flowers are blooming.
Petite little squirrels come out to play.
Really big bears awake from their slumbers.
Imaginative children enjoy a walk with their friends.
No tree is left standing without any leaves.  So
Go ahead, jump for joy because spring is here.

3-D Shapes
Author Unknown

3-D shapes are fat not flat
A cone is like a party hat.
A sphere is like a bouncy ball
A prism is like a building tall
A cylinder is like a can of pop.
A cube is like a dice your drop.
3-D shapes are here and there
3-D shapes are everywhere!

Tidepools and Anemones
By Stephen Swinburne

Tide pool soup is really good
it makes a delicious snack!
But be careful when you take a bite
this soup might bite you back!
Crabs will pinch and urchins poke
Tide-pool soup is no joke!

I live in this room close to the sea
Where the view is great and the food is free.
Some of the tenants come and go
Some I eat if they're too slow!
One end of me is firmly locked
the other end gently rocks!
I live in this room close to the sea
Oh what a life for an anemone!
