Science-Cooking-Game-Pajama Day Friday!

Hello!

Friday was our day to celebrate our big success after a beautiful Exhibition Night.  Here are some snapshots of our cozy day, doing what we do best:  Learning through experiences!

Science Experiment Friday

Genia (Ryan) led us through an exciting hands on look at how static and current electricity compare and contrast.  Friends hold hands to make a closed circuit, allowing all of their energy to flow through each other and power up an Energy Stick!

Time to try it out for themselves!

Cooking Friday

Our class helped to make Ponche.  This is a type of fruit punch my family always makes around this time of the year.  This is a >>>SIMPLIFIED RECIPE<<< that I found online (not quite like my moms!) that friends enjoyed putting together.  (Not pictured: We also made chocolate covered bananas!)

A BIG thank you to Lynn (Ara), Sally (Bethel), Mark (Calvin), Sarah (Gracen), Dawn (Kellan), Joy (Leah), Amanda (Maja), and Genia (Ryan) for popping in and having fun with us during this celebratory day.  We appreciate you all so much!

At the end of our fun-filled day, friends handed out special treats and we said goodbye to 2016.  I'm so glad to have spent it with you all and your wonderful children.
Love, Gaby

Fall Exhibition Night

Hello everyone,

Tonight was such a highly anticipated night and I want to appreciate you all for helping it be a big success.  We could not have done it without all of your support.  Here are some snapshots of the Respectful Exploring Creators being hosts and providing tours to our guests.  I apologize that I did not get a picture of everyone, it was such a crazy and beautiful night.  I was glad to be able to take mental pictures and connect with you all!

Greeting guests and offering them a tour.

Explaining how when we hear music, it tells us a story.  This wall holds our illustrations of the images that danced in our heads while listening to Mozart's, "Magic Flute."

Sharing who the cast members are and what they are excited to share with their families about being an actor.

Explaining how we made a storyboard of what we planned to act out in our play.

Viewing of our play The Life of a Butterfly

Sharing our watercolorings of San Diego Native Butterflies and the techniques we used

Sharing our reflections about our process in selecting this topic to present for Exhibition Night.

Show Time!  Thank you Rose for sharing your recording with us.

Everyone did a wonderful job!  I wish I could have been everywhere at once, but alas, that was is not so.  Thank you for understanding and  I hope you all enjoyed your tours and seeing your children take on their roles as experts with pride and dedication.

Thank you so much for sharing your amazing children with me!
Love, Gaby
